Media Statement: Trump Administration’s Contraception Decision

Today, The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio’s President and CEO Nichole E. Dunn released this statement in regards to the Trump administration’s decision to allow more employers to opt out of providing no-cost birth control to women by claiming religious and moral objections:

“Access to women’s healthcare is a priority at The Women’s Fund. We know from this year’s record low teen birth rate, access to birth control matters. Contraception is vital to family planning and a woman’s economic empowerment — it gives a woman the ability to shape her financial, educational, and professional future. Friday’s decision moves our country in the opposite direction, when we should be continuing to build off the progress we have made over the last decade. We need to move forward not backwards. The Women’s Fund will continue to hold the line that women’s healthcare should not be a political football.”
