Media Statement: Target raises the bar on pay

Today, The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio’s President and CEO Nichole E. Dunn released this statement in regards to Target’s decision to increase the company’s base pay rate to $15 per hour by 2020:

“The Women’s Fund is committed to the economic empowerment of women, which is why we are lifting up Target’s message. Target has raised the bar by taking a stand for their workers’ living wage, moving the needle for more equitable pay, and going beyond supporting their employees – and their families- by making a smart business decision that impacts everyone, since women make up two-thirds of minimum wage workforce. The Women’s Fund will continue to elevate the conversation around the need for wages to be raised to a level where all women can be economically-self sufficient.”
