We provide opportunities. To give and receive. For all the women and girls in central Ohio.
We believe in the democratization of philanthropy.
Your donations count. No matter the size, or how often you make them. We’ve received gifts ranging from $2 to $1 million, and together they’ve added up to extraordinary proportions. You stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all donors to The Women’s Fund, making a difference together.
We are not your typical funder.
We provide training. Our grant workshops help organizations learn about the funding opportunity, see if their project is a good fit for funding and raise awareness of the need for programs for women and girls in Central Ohio.
We offer advice. By staggering our deadlines, we have time to give feedback to grant applicants so their proposals are as compelling – and technically accurate – as possible. This feedback also educates our grant applicants about how their programs can move beyond providing direct service to creating social change.
We invite real central Ohio women and girls to help us select our grant partners. At The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio, we make the grantmaking process inclusive, democratic, and accountable. We recruit and train a diverse group of women ages 14 and up to review grant applications. This amazing group of women make lasting friendships through this process, while learning about the many dynamic organizations working to create social change in our communities. We believe that if grant applications propose to serve women and girls, then women and girls are the experts about what programs would work for them.
We give feedback. Our grant readers provide substantive feedback to all applicants, whether or not they receive funding. This transparency in funding decisions helps to keep lines of communication flowing between the grant applicants and The Women’s Fund.
